So I'm currently in Switzerland in Gstaad and the shops here are basic to say the least.
The billage im staying in has a bakery and a convince store, with it being the most expensive place in Europe it probably won't surprise you that my little shopping trip to buy, lettuce, cucumber, 4 tomatoes, feta, strawberries and pumpkin seeds cost £17!
That's about double the amount it would cost in the UK!
Id say most of my money goes on food and that will certainly be the case for me in Switzerland.
So todays lunch recipe serves one
1/4 butter head letuce
1/4 cucumber sliced in to chunks
One large tomatoe diced
50g of feta crumbled
one tablespoon of roasted pumpkin seeds
I made the dressing as a fluke I was playing around with ingredients already in the house
- 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 a teaspoon of Manuka honey
- Pinch of Himalayan pink salt
- ground black pepper (to taste)
- 4 strawberries
I literally combined all the ingredients and blended in a hand blended
it sounds a little bit odd but it was delicious, it was almost as good as the views around me.
Swizerland is picturesque but my heart doesn't belong here.
